Question What is there to do @ level 20?

Hey, I'm new to this game, I bought the GW trilogy 3 days ago and am currently level 19 and I looked at the wiki; I'm almost finished with the nightfall campaign! So my question is what is there to do @ level 20 once I finish the story?

All sorts of things. You still have two different chapters to beat and each of them has great missions, quests and sights. While I'm on the sights part, exploring all chapters is fun and will take a great deal of your time. By exploring I don't mean wall-hugging but honest map exploration just to see the sights.

You can also jump on the bandwagon and do speed clears and farm so you can buy yourself the most beautiful staff of them all - BDS.

How on earth can you be lvl 19 and almost finish the Nightfall campaign? You're generally about lvl 20 at consulaet docks!

To answer, the game offers a storyline, a ton side quests, PvP, elite areas. So, pick the one you like and play that.

+1 ... I dont understand how anyone could be level 19 and almost complete Nightfall, Its not Prohecies where you can be run most of the way. Nightfall has restrictions...... anyways that aside

I suggest that you check out the wiki..... http://wiki.guildwars.com as there you can read all about the missions
) HARD MODE is something you would have not even started yet...
) Vanquishing
) Cartographer
) Weapons for you and your heros
) Armor for you and heros also
) Hall Of Monuments
) Elite zones which have not visited yet
) PvP experience
) Eye Of The North for PvE only skills

in short reaching level 19 (or even 20) and being a part of the way through nightfall would in my books mean you have experienced about 2% of this game.

First of all I doubt it that your almost at the end of the Nightfall story. I think you still have a lot of that to go.

The designers of GuildWars has made the max level low, easy to reach and therefor less important for your overall skill in the game. The way to prove your a good (leet) player comes from you own gaming skills and not like in some games how good you can grind. One important thing is material. The most important thing however are skills/builds and how good you can use them. a lot of high level skills can only be unlocked late in campaigns.

1-20 is training. The game starts at 20.

GW starts with level 20. Everything before that is tutorial and even after you've reach level 20 you have some sort of progression by learning more skills and builds.

Of all MMOs out there, you have the most freedom you can get in GW, because 90% of the game's content is made for level 20. In WoW or other MMOs revisiting earlier areas is futile, because loot is useless and you don't get any xp.

That still makes me shuder when I think that people like that annorexic lizzard with a stick up its Bum.

Back on topic: As others have said. getting to level 20 ist just training. I cant beleive that you have been able to make your way through Vabbi and teh tormented areas and be anywhere close to the end of Nightfall at level 19. You may be close to finishing off the starter area, but it will still be a while before you can finish the game.

You can go through the other 3 story lines of Prophecies, Factions and Eye of the North, or you can Vanquish, explore titlehunt or farm. Its up to you .

He might have assumed that because the cap is 20, and because he was almost done with the first island, he was near the end of the story. I know when I started I thought the other bigger continent was part of prophecies, until I read up a bit on the missions and noticed I was VERY far from being near the end. But yeah, Istan is a small part of the Nightfall campaign, plus there's more to the Nightfall zones than what is shown on the map, there's a secondary map with more zones near the end.

I think you have managed to get to level 19 on the island of Istan, which is good work for 3 days! Congrats. Istan is the tutorial island.

There is a mission on Consulate Docks that will take you to the mainland where the real Nightfall begins. There are 4 major regions each with a large number of explorables and mission maps. Kourna, Vabbi, The Desolation, and the Realm of Torment.

During the rest of Nightfall you will acquire more heroes, outfit them, get skills for them, get skills and Elite skills for yourself and your heroes. The game becomes steadily more challenging as you progress.

When you complete the final mission of Nightfall, Hard Mode becomes available and you can go back and replay favorite areas in the lower game for improved challenge and improved loot!

At that time, the better Zaishen challenges on Embark Beach also become doable.

If you get lost in all this check the wiki for guidance. Nightfall itself all alone is a very large, deep, and complex game. Beyond that you can go to Factions and complete that, onward to Prophecies and complete that. Then there is Eye of the North as the final piece. All in all, GW in total is comparable to WoW for sheer scale.

Good luck and have fun!

Back on Topic :

The game really just starts at level 20.
Consider level 1 to 19 as tutorials.
The real thing that makes this game actually good.
Is to set him/herself goals.
Like : ''From now on, I'll get money for Obsidian armor'''.
You'll have tons of goals in this game to fulfill (Titles,Hall of Monuments,Desired Armor,Pets, etc).

Like someone else said, it's doubtful you're at the end of NF at level 19, even if you are you are doing it wrong.

After you get to 20 (and taking the attribute quests for granted), it's time to beef up, get your Guild Wars face on, aim for titles, join a good guild (it's not called GW's without reason) plunge into yon dungeons and most importantly, have fun!
